Qualified: No. 11 (3.785 E.T. at 326.40 MPH)

The Results:
E1: 3.736 E.T. at 328.14 MPH defeated by Tony Schumacher 3.699 E.T. at 329.91 MPH

Race Recap:
An uncharacteristically low qualifying position in the bottom half of the field pitted Antron Brown against teammate Tony Schumacher in the first round of eliminations. Against his DSR stablemate, Brown had the reaction time advantage and raced his Matco Tools ‘Tools for the Cause’/U.S. Army machine to its best pass of the weekend (3.736-seconds), but it wasn’t enough to edge past Schumacher’s 3.699 E.T., which held up to be low E.T. of the event.

Quotable:
“We wanted the upset on that first round today. Our team has hit a good stride. We struggled this whole weekend and to finally get it back together and then get eliminated in round one today, it’s just disappointing. We really needed that run in Q3 or Q4 to set us up good for race day, but we’ll go to Vegas and keep working hard. Our main focus is to get a good qualifying run in on that first day and get ourselves qualified high in the field. If we can do that, I know we can contend to win the race, so that’s the focus now. We’ve been on the wrong side of everything this year and hopefully Vegas will be our turning point and we can get on the right side.”
