BROWNSBURG, Ind. – The NHRA Full Throttle Series 2012 Top Fuel world champion Antron Brown joined sponsor Matco Tools’ “Tools for the Cause” campaign in October to elevate breast cancer awareness and raise funds for Susan G. Komen for the Cure®. Now select items from Brown’s pink crusade are available for auction at ebay.com with all proceeds going directly to Komen.

Launched in October, Brown’s 8,000-horsepower dragster, usually sporting a primarily blue paint scheme, went pink for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® organization through Matco’s national “Tools for the Cause” effort that runs through Sept. 30, 2013. Matco Tools is donating 15-percent of sales on select line of pink tools to Komen.

Brown’s pink fire suit and helmet, along with a 1/16-scale die cast constructed by Die Cast Designs, crew shirts, and limited-edition pink Tools for the Cause hats will be auctioned for seven days beginning Dec. 11 on eBay. All proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®.

“It’s truly an honor for me to be a part of this special campaign through Matco,” said Brown. “All proceeds from these auctions will be going to the folks at Susan G. Komen to help find a cure for breast cancer. The feedback we got from the fans from the pink dragster was awesome and now the fans can feel a part of our team by bidding on these rare items.”

Brown raced the pink “Tools for the Cause” dragster at the Reading, Pa. and fall Las Vegas races and set the NHRA national elapsed time record at 3.701-seconds on Oct. 8 en route to a runner-up finish at Maple Grove Raceway.

According to Susan G. Komen for the Cure®, in 2012, it is estimated that among U.S. women there will be 226,870 new cases of invasive breast cancer, and 39,510 women will lose the fight. Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world, and has invested more than $2 billion in fulfilling its promise to end breast cancer forever.
